Sermon: The Light for All Nations
Theme: God’s promise is that wisdom and light will be shared with all people as faithfulness is shared among those who trust in Christ.
Purpose: We will seek to see the light of Christ rather than focus on the darkness.
Scriptures: Isaiah 60:1-6 Arise, shine, your light shall come.
Matthew 2:1-12 The coming of the Magi.
Questions: What is the significance of wise people who are not part of the original message of salvation being included in the gift of Christ’s birth? What role do the Magi play in expanding our understanding of God’s transforming work for the world? What is the relationship between wisdom and salvation? What should be our attitude towards people who do not share our faith who are seeking after the healing and reconciliation of God?
