October Update from the Pastor Transition Team

Transition Update

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 NIV

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.”

Paul wanted the Christians in Corinth to realize how much they needed each other. God saved them in order to join them together with people from many other nations as His people. As the body of Christ, we are a team. The body is not supported by one person, but by all of us. We are one and are strongest working together in unity.

During this time of transition, this idea of coming together is more important than ever. We are all going to be asked to go outside of our comfort zone, roll up our sleeves and lend a hand. The Pastor Transition team has been gathering information on all of the roles and responsibilities that need to be addressed with Pastor Jack’s absence. Two committees have been formed to assist during this period. The Pulpit Supply Committee  and the Transitional Pastor Nominating Committee. We will go into these committees in further detail in the next newsletter.

The human body is an amazing collection of parts, vital organs, systems and structures. When the body is healthy and all of these parts work together; the human body can do amazing things. The same is true for the Body of Christ. As long as each member of the congregation does their part and offers it for the good of the whole, Christ will do amazing things through us!
