Sermon: “We Need to Give Thanks”
Theme: The work of giving thanks enables us to be in alignment with the gifts that we receive without envy or greed.
Purpose: We will review the practice of Thanksgiving.
Scriptures: Deuteronomy 8:7-18 The act of giving thanks to God and giving the first fruits.
Luke 17:11-19 The Leper who returned to give thanks to Jesus.
Questions:
What difference does the practice of giving thanks make in our lives? How does giving thanks change our perspective on the troubles and challenges we face? How does giving thanks change how we feel about the quality of life we live? What are the dangers and pitfalls of a life that does not know gratitude? What difference did returning and giving thanks make to the
Samaritan leper? What did that act say about the difference between the Jewish lepers and the Samaritan? How should we practice our thanksgiving?
